In the spring time… We wear pink!

Hello lovelys, how are you on this horrible rainy day, did anyone get snow yesterday? Snow in April… Madness.

Anyway, I wanted to talk to you today about the newest spring time trend. Pink eyes and pink lips, now the thought of them together just sounds to much, like something Barbie would wear, but if it’s done right it can look really nice, I thought I’d experiment today, so I used 4 different shades of pinks and 2 different lipsticks

When it came to the eyes it sort of all came together naturally and gave a really soft blushed pink look, it was so pretty, especially with the shimmer, I went from darkest to lightest, blending each time I added a new colour (I’ve circled the colours I used in the photo above) now when it came to the lipsticks that was hard… First I used a ABH lipstick, in the shade milkshake

i didn’t like it… It was far to pink for what I was going for, I wanted a more soft look where as this was really in your face pink.

So I tried a lipstick I’ve had for ages, loved but forgot about, this is a lipstick from modelco in the shade kitty

This colour ended up being a perfect match, it complimented my eye make up perfectly and it was pink, without being to pink!

So if you want to do this look yourself, I’d suggest going for more softer blushed pinks rather then bright bold pinks, I also used a baby pink blush and a pink toned highlight, just for that extra bit of pink💋

Finding the perfect foundation for you

Having trouble finding out what foundation is going to be your perfect match, your best friend, your soul mate?

Well no need to worry, I’m here to help, for years of struggling with this myself, I am here to help. Wondering if a liquid or powder is best for you? I’ve got you covered

Foundations fall into so many categories but il stick to the basics, you have all your different kinds, your liquids, powders, mouse, spray, you name it… It’s probably a foundation

Then you have your undertones, your naturals, your yellows and your pinks. Take your make up off, look in the mirror, what do you see? A olive completion with hardly any pink or no pinks at all? Does oranges and yellows look good on you? Does it complement your skin tone? If the answer is yes! Your yellow undertoned! Woooo!!! You have lovely olive skin! You can also be pale and have a yellow undertone btw.

Now, if the above isn’t you, do you look in the mirror and see rosey cheeks? And a slight pinky skin tone? Do oranges and yellows wash you out and do greys and blues compliment your skin tone? If so then you have a pink undertone!!! See it’s really easy to work it out!!

Now if your looking and thinking, but wait, I see both, then that’s fine, your neutral, you can get away with both, makes foundation shopping so much easier.

Now let’s talk about skin types and different foundations

Powders and sprays – oily/combination

Liquids and mouse – dry/combination and sometimes oily depending on which type

Matte finishes- these are best used on oily skin! If used on a dry skin it will emphasise your dry patches and no one wants that, the point is to hide certain areas 😦

Dewey/luminous finishes- these are best for those with dry skins, extremely oily people should stay away from these! The oils in your face will cause the foundation to move around and you’ll look like a disco ball, trust me, I made that mistake when my skin was really oily.

If you have combination skin, I would suggest a mixture of the two for the perfect finish, apply matte in places you get oily and Dewey/luminous where you get dry.

Setting sprays can also change your foundation, so for example if you’ve read this, realise you have a bottle of nars all day luminous foundation which is £39!!! Don’t want to waste it, but you have oily skin, buy a matte setting spray, it will change the formula in the foundation from a luminous to a matte 🙂

I really recommend this one from nyx 🙂 smells amazing and lasts all day!!

BB creams/ CC creams- I love these! These are my go to in the summer, they are basically the same thing, only difference is a CC cream is colour correcting, but and the best part is, there suitable for everyone, doesn’t matter what skin type!!! You still need to find out your undertone though.

I hope this has helped some of you! If so leave me a comment on what you would like me to talk about next 🙂

Stila sparkle waterproof eyeliner

Want a eyeliner that stays on all day, doesn’t budge and stains your skin? Well stila has the eyeliner for you… It has extra staining power…

As you can probably tell, I’m not a happy bunny right now.

I know everyone wants a eyeliner that is long lasting and doesn’t budge, I am also one of those people, but I don’t want a eyeliner that is going to stain my skin!

I used the eyeliner mentioned above to create this Ice queen look

I love the finished result but when it came to washing it all of my face, I was left with a blue wing stain. I used wipes, my Clinique take the day of balm, you name it, I used it to try and remove it.

This is what I’m left with now…

 a lovely blue stain..

I’m not sure if you can tell but my eye is red raw from trying to rub it off, my eyelid and outter corner is soooooo sore…

If anyone has any tips you can give me to remove this blue stain I would be very appreciated

I hope you enjoyed my little rant and I’m sorry if you didn’t…

Superdrug haul/first impression

I have recently started buying make up from the drug store again, I stopped for a while because I kept having bad experiences with the products I was buying, but so far so good, I’m extremely happy with everything I got from SuperDrug, I did get a little bit scared when all the high school kids started running in and started to rub the sample lipsticks all over the hands. So I did run away and hide behind the hair dyes. So moving on, the balm highlighter, little lottie soap star and freedom brush shower was bought online, since when did superdrug stock the balm?! I mean I’m not complaining but hook a girl up with this information!!

I’ve been hearing a lot about the new but old loreal inflable range, yes I know I’m late to the party, but like I hinted at already, drug stores and make up excited teenagers scare me… Anyway, so yes, I know I’m late, but this stuff is amazing, the primer is so soft, honestly feels like silk on my face, the foundation, a tiny bit goes a long way! Such a full coverage foundation, I wouldn’t say it’s super matte though, more a Demi matte, the powder is really nice too, keeps everything looking soft without looking Cakey.

I paid £7.99 each for the primer and foundation and £4.99 for the powder, happy days💪🏻

The next thing I bought was the revlon colourstay concealer, I was heartbroken when urban decay had sold out of my shade of there naked skin concealer so had to find a new one, I don’t really have any great things to say about this, the applicator felt like it scratched my skin, you get hardly any product out because it’s got that annoying plastic bit that scrapes of the product, only good thing tho is it did blend out nice, I wouldn’t buy it again. I paid £5.99 for it.

Freedom have really upped my brow game!! There promade is most definitely a dupe for the Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow!! I’m in love with it and it saves me so much money! At £5 for the promade and £3 for the powder you can’t go wrong! It’s amazing, long lasting, doesn’t dry as quick as the dip brow so you have longer to work with it and it doesn’t feel really hard on my eyebrows. 10/10!

Duo lash glue, this glue is literally my best friend, only glue I’ve found that doesn’t irritate my eyeballs, but that keeps my lashes on all day! Only downside is it smells like fish… Other then that, it’s great! It cost me £6!

Oh on to the beauty that is the balm Mary-Lou manizer😍😍 I have no words except, beautiful, it’s the most gorgeous champagne colour that is so pigmented!! You don’t need much at all to be able to be seen from space! Love love love it! This cost £23 I believe. I will double check and get back to you.

Lottie London soap star and freedom brush shower, can I just say before I talk about these, I used to use real techniques brush cleaner and it used to take me 2 hours to do all my brushes, 2 hours!!!

With these 2 products you’d think it would take longer right?…. WRONG!!

It took me 45 mins!! 45 mins to wash every single brush I had and the handles, they are amazing and they smell lush!!! I can’t even describe how good they are, seriously go buy them! I use the brush shower everyday now after I do my make up just to make sure all the bugs are dead😃

The lottie London was £8 and the brush shower was £4. Again I will double check but I’m sure that’s right.

The picture below is the make up I have mentioned today on my face😘
